A trail bike (various models of dual sport/trail/enduro bikes have saddle heights ranging from @850 mm up to 950 mm) are often a 21" front wheel, 18" rear wheel, SINGLE cylinder motorcycle (250cc to 650cc capacity) and weigh in the order of 115 kg's to maybe 160 kg - depending on size make and type.
Some may say this is a dangerous way to mount the bike but it works for me and other short riders. I can't speak for others but many a dirt bike rider who's bike doesn't have a kick stand mount their rides this way also.
We went to great length to discover and fashion the best touring mods and short rider adventure touring hacks. KTM 690 Enduro R Short rider hacks are a must. In my opinion it is the best lightweight adventure motorcycle option on the market but it's tall. While KTM adventure touring is usually a phrase reserved for the larger brothers and sisters of the KTM 690 I have discovered the 690 if you're 250lbs you still need to respring the 690/701. No way you're gonna get proper sag setup while being that heavy on any bikes oem springs. Even 200lb is pushing it. Most bikes are out of box for around a 170lb rider, the crf250/300l is exceptionally soft and only rear shock preload can be adjusted. Bike needs springs even if you're like

Something that's not mentioned much is the rather narrow turn radius. Being a short rider (5'5") and the 690 being heavy compared to other dirt bikes I definitely struggle in the tight stuff. show shallow steering angle doesn't help much but most stuff is still doable but you'll be working harder than other guys.

The KTM's are the extremes. The EXC's will be much better dirt bikes than the WRR and the 690 will be a much better road bike. To me, the WRR fits in the middle. It's both a solid road bike and a solid dirt bike that can take you down pretty much any trail a novice to intermediate rider would probably go.
KTM is guilty of having a "narrow triangle" and its due to the steep steering angle and race pedigree (690 aside). So, manufacturers cannot get this right. They make a bike with correct geometry for taller people and the shorties moan. 6u6W.
