1. Most likely, the die was cast when they stuck shipping tape to it, if that's really a clearcoat over the stainless. – Harper - Reinstate Monica. May 19, 2023 at 22:26. I think at this point you might as well take acetone to the rest of the door, get all the coating off, and deal with the fingerprints! – Huesmann.

Dab a bit of clear nail polish over the scratch so it won’t rust and don't rub too hard there in the future. Get it wrapped from one if those places that does vehicle wraps. Or take it off the hinge and have it powder coated. Or buy a new door. And beat the kids. They are the source of the issue.
Anyway, I noticed some bad scuff marks on the freezer (see pics) and realized the freezer has an adhesive clear "tape" (see photos). It is NOT the clear plastic coating normally wrapped around SS or appliance glass. In order for the scuffs to be removed, the film has to be removed since the scuffs are in the plastic and not the steel. STEP 1: Mix a baking soda paste. When removing only a few unsightly spots from the side of a pan or the front of your dishwasher, mix a paste of 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 2 cups of water
