The Sigma 24/1.4 reaches 1:5.3 at 0.25m.[0] Filter-thread: All 24/1.4 lenses use 77mm filters. That’s the size what most pro-lenses use. [+] Image Stabilization: no 24mm prime lens offers optical stabilization except for Canon’s EF 24mm f2.8 IS USM. And with the small magnification at a focal length of 24mm it is no deal breaker.
The incoming Sony 24mm f/1.4 GM weighs 15.7oz (445g), which means that the FE version of the 24 ART is some 73% heavier. Ouch! The lens also grows a fair bit in length, from about 3.55″ (90.2mm) to about 4 3/4″ (126mm) by my measurement. One (controversial) reviewer says: "This Sony 24/1.4 weighs less than even the LEICA SUMMILUX-M 24mm f/1.4 ASPH rangefinder camera lens (445g vs. 468g). This Sony is also sharper, has a much flatter field, much less distortion, has better bokeh and autofocus" Add that Sony cameras have best-in-class sensors, and also very high resolution sensors.

Verdict. The Sigma 28mm f1.4 Art is a medium wide-angle lens designed for full-frame bodies and available in Nikon F, Canon EF, Sony E and Sigma mounts, with the Leica L version arriving later in 2019. Announced in September 2018, it’s Sigma’s 10th large aperture full-frame lens in the renown Art series ranging from 14mm up to 135mm focal
