Q7 MK 1 Discussion - AdBlue sensor 650 mile countdown - The Adblue warning countdown came on, we filled the tank (s) and it was off for about 400 miles. It came back on but the system has been checked and the Adblue additive is still full in the tanks.
I head back home and planned to drive straight to the dealer. About 1/3 of the way there, the orange 'ad blue' warning changes to red and the message says once I stop the car, it won't restart until I ad more ad blue. About 2/3rds of they way to the dealer, the red light goes away and the generic 'check engine' light comes on instead.
Posted January 18, 2023. Recently bought an A4 Avant Quattro, perfect service history and well looked after at 73,000 miles. 2 months in with limited miles and I get an AdBlue fault and CEL on dash. Car is now in with Audi needing the AdBlue tank replaced, thankfully the car had a few months left on approved used warranty so is covered.

Some digging revealed this to be an AdBlue leak, its not toxic apparently, just unsightly. Bought 2 large containers of adblue from the stealership and filled up the tank. I read on the forums (this and others) that either the sensor would reset itself or I could perform a hard reset by turning the ignition ti run for 20 seconds to a minute. Quick notes on Audi Q2 fuel tank size. Average capacity for generation: 52 L (11.4 gal) Approximate driving range (full tank): 825 km (513 miles) Tank size to engine capacity: 3.8%.
